Basketball WA’s School Ambassador Program

Basketball WA’s School Ambassador Program (BWA SAP) enables schools to promote the sport of Basketball to their students and up-skill their staff and school community through a variety of delivery models, course and workshops.

The incentive based program will support Basketball WA’s strategic vision to grow the reach and regularity of basketball in schools and facilitate ongoing development of 5×5 and 3×3 forms of play.

Program Objectives

  1. To provide resources to improve social, academic, physical and emotional outcomes for all students through Basketball
  2. To ensure school staff are motivated, confident and sufficiently skilled to deliver Basketball
  3. To increase the participation of basketball in the Western Australian community

 

Eligibility

To be eligible for the Basketball WA School Ambassador Program you must be:

  • Sports/PE Teacher
  • Classroom Teacher
  • Principal

 

Role of a Basketball WA School Ambassador

  • Drive participation in basketball activities at your school
  • Promote your local basketball association and Basketball WA events and activities
  • Agree to be the point of contact for basketball at your school
  • Assist in arranging opportunities for your school to engage in clinics and competitions

 

Stages of the program

From joining as a member to becoming a Gold School Ambassador, Ambassadors have a range of levels they can achieve. Further details on how to achieve each level are state later in the attached document.
