On the 23rd of November the best schools in the state will compete in a one-day tournament to battle for the Champion Schools Cup.
Last year we saw multiple over-time semi finals and very exciting Grand Finals with Churchlands Primary School taking out the Boys Championship and Willetton Primary School taking out the Girls.
This Year is set to be just as exciting with some of the most talented teams Basketball WA have seen in a long time coming to compete at the Cup.
‘Over the past 8 months, I have seen the closest and most competitive Grand Finals at all of the Association Cups that have played across this school year’ said Georgia Clarke, Basketball WA Participation Officer. ‘The 2016 Champion Schools Cup is really going to showcase some of the young talent coming through the programs and it is bound to be an exciting and entertaining day’.
‘This Year, Basketball WA have run Association Cups in Stirling, Willetton, Kalamunda, Eaton, Bunbury, Vic Park and Joondalup. We have two more Cups on the cards on the lead up to the Champions Cup in Bibra Lake and Cockburn.’
The Champions Cup in 2016 will have 10 of the best boys and 10 of the best girls teams compete. ‘Most of these teams are being coaches by volunteer parents or teachers and it is credit to them on the success of their teams to make it this far’ said Georgia.
The 2016 Champion Schools Cup will be held at Bendat Basketball Centre on the 23rd of November from 9:00am-2:30pm.
